HOPPY Halloween

Recently I won some stamps from Lawn Fawn.  My favorite was this little set:
Isn't it just too adorable?!

Today, I was lifting a layout by Sherry #9509 on the Fiskateer site here:
When I saw the way Sherry used a stamp at the top of the layout, I knew exactly what I wanted to scrap.  Here are my super SomeBunnies - Binky and Bella, all dressed up for Trick or Treat.
I mostly used papers from Creative Imagination's "Hallows Eve", but there are some other odds and ends as well.  Thank you Sherry for your inspiration and Lawn Fawn for "Hoppy" stamps!

Hand Sanitizer Gift Boxes

Several blog posts are delivered to my email each day.  I cruise thru them as time allows, making comments and pinning to Pinterest.  Recently, Joanna's blog, (
had a really cute tutorial by Kendra from Luv 2 Scrap n' Make Cards
My oldest daughter needed a cute teacher's gift and I thought these would be perfect.  The packages will hold a mini hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works.  I whipped these 10 little packages up in under an hour with Kendra's tutorial.
I used the x-large oval squeeze punch from Fiskars to make the opening for the hand sanitizer.  Papers by Webster's Pages.  I added some gold Stickles for interest.  The top is sealed with some scotch tape doubled over.  My Martha Stewart Score Board made the task pretty easy.  Thank you Joanna and Kendra.

Sew Sweet

Cleaning my REALLY messy scraproom today.  Found some stamps I won over at the "Inspired By Stamping" blog.  (Thank you Joanna!)
These lovely Mason Jar stamps -
- called out to me just begging to be inked.
I started by stamping the jar on an acrylic sheet from Clear Scraps.  These sheets are great for stamping and embossing.  Then I cut a thimble from some self adhesive cork from QuickKutz and added some heavy duty thread and some pretty stick pins from Little Yellow Bicycle.  Played around with some papers and embellishments from My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing" line and here is the result:
The card is mounted on a piece of coordinating cardstock and place in a recycled, heavy duty plastic envelope that had contained some product from Creative Memories.  The info is written on the back of the cardstock and the card shows through - so the outside is as pretty as the inside.  REALLY love the canning jars - they can "hold" bugs, buttons, candy...   Here are links for some of the products used:

Winter Decorations

LOVE the new trend with canning jars.  Decorating with them is so simple.  Recently I saw some bottle brush trees in jars at Sears and knew I had to make some of my own.  I used a 2 quart, 1 quart and pint size jar.  Canning jars are available at your local hardware and grocery stores.  What is great is you can use them for other things during the year.

Amanda has some pretty cute decorations she made with her canning jars here also:

Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday.  I will be posting some Christmas cards later this week.

Hand Cut Words

Over at If It's Groovy, Groovy Deb is having a "Hand Cut Words Challenge".  The title of my LO was created by writing the title with my BIC correction pen and them cutting the words out with my #4 Fiskars Detail Scissors.
This was pretty far out of my comfort zone, but I think I will be doing this more often.  Next time I will try some type of marker with a larger tip.  The owls were punched using Fiskars Limited Edition squeeze punch "Owl Be Seeing You".  I used 2 different colors of cardstock, trimmed one of the punhed images to resemble the belly of the owl, added some google eyes and some marker details.
The branches were trimmed by hand.  When I buy paper, I always try to get a 6X6 paper pack when available.  These packs are great for titles, puches and matting.  Saves your 12X12 sheets for the layouts.
The leaves and flowers were from the embellishment packs.  Little Yellow Bicycle has awesome embellishments.  This is from their Acorn Hollow Collection - prob'ly my favorite paper line EVER!
Liberty Grace loves Owls.  When she sees one she says "Hoot, hoot!"  Her little costume came from Old Navy and she can use the little hat all winter long.

Pinterest Inspired

I have seen several of these upcycled jars on Pinterest.  While out shopping the other day I searched for some orange tissue paper without success.  I did find orange napkins for 99 cents however.  This is such a fast and fun project.  You will need:
Mod Podge - I used the kind for paper in matte
one or 2 orange napkins (one lady used white paper towels and food coloring)
black card stock - go ahead and cut out the shapes for the face
at least 1 jar (but why stop at one?)
I also painted the lid (not pictured) with acrylic paint
a battery operated candle is recommended (I used a tea light candle without incidence however)
an inexpensive foam brush
styrofoam plate or wax paper to sit your jar and brush onto while working

Start by tearing your napkin into narrow strips.  Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge onto the jar, slightly wider than your napkin strip.  Spread your napkin strip onto the jar, then apply a thin coat of Mod Podge on top.  Continue around the jar by slightly overlapping each strip.  Then apply more Mod Podge for the face.  Apply MP to the back of facial shapes, apply shapes to jar and cover with more Mod Podge.  Allow to dry.

I think these would be so cute outside, perhaps add some sand, gravel or kitty litter for weight.

Hope you take some time to make one or more of these little cuties.  LOVE mine and I see more of them in my future!

The winner of my Fiskar's goodness from this weekend's blog hop was commentor #18:

That is such an adorable project!"
Thank everyone for all the wonderful comments.  Michelle, PM your name and address to me on the Fiskateers website and I will mail your goodies out by the end of the week.

Third Annual Fiskateers Blog Hop

Welcome to the Third Annual Fiskateers ORANGE Blog Hop! If you're hopping along, you should have come from Michelle #7586's at  (If you are joining us in the middle, go to to start from the beginning.) Today we are celebrating Fiskars' signature color, ORANGE.  Who isn't familiar with Fiskars' famous orange-handled scissors?!  But Fiskars makes many other wonderful products for crafting, sewing, gardening, and more as well.   Each stop along our Hop will feature different Fiskars' products.  My ORANGE project today today is a cute little apron for your dishwashing liquid.  My neighbor got this one for me a few years ago.

First, I made some stencils using some of my limited edition squeeze punches.

Then, I cut my ribbon with the Imaginisce ribbon cutter...

And used some orange fabric (a shower curtain from Target) that I had on hand to make this:

I also used my Fiskars Simple Stick Stamps to stamp the "BOO!"

Fiskars Squeeze Punches are so easy to use.  They are the only punches to be awarded the Arthritis Foundation Ease-of-Use Commendation.  My 9 year old grandchild has been able to use them for several years.  The Simple Stick Stamps are great too, they stick securely to the acrylic blocks, first time - every time.  Fiskars also has a great product warranty also. For more information about Fiskars and the Fiskateers, you can go to:    Be sure to leave a comment below to enter my "ORANGE you glad you hopped?" giveaway.  I'll be sending some lucky blog hopper some Fiskars goodness.  EVERYONE is eligible for this drawing.  Winner will be announced Monday - October 29, 2012.

More Wishes

My 30 wishes are almost done.  It is harder than it seems.  Should they be realistic or serious or frivilous?   So many decisions...  #20 was an idea from Rosie.  She made a sweet scrapbook page about her Sister using this paper, so, true to using what is easy access, I made this wish.  It would be great if we always got a little something sweet on everything.  "Here is your speeding ticket Mrs.Woods, oh and here is a Hershey's Kiss for you."   $200 electric bill, oh, and here is a Tootsie Roll"  You get the drift.

#21 - back to wishing for that clean house again, and the smell of fresh baked cookies as you walk in the door, dinner on the neatly set table with fancy plates and glasses...

#22 - Of all the things I have lost, I miss my memory the most...
Thanks for stopping by.  Please take some time to go be crafty today.

Thinking Off The Table

I have seen some really cute Halloween pillows lately.  Most are more than I want to pay for them.  So, while browsing at Target today,  I found some very trendy placemats.  VOILA!  Just what I wasn't looking for...  I bought a pair and headed home with them.  Making them was really "sew" easy!  In my stash, I happened to have an orange fabric shower curtain.  By using the top section, 2 sides of the pillow back were hemmed.  The top of the pillow back had 3 ready made "buttonholes" (meant for the shower curtain hooks to go in).  I machine stitched the wrong sides together, leaving the top open.  Then I marked where the holes were, hand stitched 3 buttons on, stuffed the pillows with plastic shopping bags, and buttoned them closed.  These pillows cost me $2.99 plus tax each.  They can be emptied and will lay flat to store away until next year.  They look pretty cute and the price was exactly right!  They took less than an hour to put together.
I also made a collage from my favorite Webster's Pages EVER!
The flower is from some tulle from my stash.  The 31 is from Tim Holtz.  The cute little spider is from one of those little plastic rings.  The saying, "The world, for a little while, was an enchanted land", was cut from a discarded retailer's catalog.  I added some punched elements and some stickers, then put them in a frame that always hangs there over the usual photos.  After Halloween, I can switch them out, storing the Halloween collage underneath.
Hope this gets your creative juices flowing and that you take some time to be crafty today.

Wish 14

I painted a box a while back on Fiskateers.
I wasn't sure what to do with it, so I gave it purpose.
I am wishing for a beautifully creative day.
It is going to be a beautiful day.
This is a tag that slips in behing the cardboard.
                                                               I feel the creative twitch...

I hoping (and wishing) that you will take some creative time today.

Wish 13

I love the little alphabet stamps that I have been using.

My Hubby and I don't seem to have a lot of time for each other since he began working midnights.
Hope you take some time for romance today.
