Pinterest Inspired

I have seen several of these upcycled jars on Pinterest.  While out shopping the other day I searched for some orange tissue paper without success.  I did find orange napkins for 99 cents however.  This is such a fast and fun project.  You will need:
Mod Podge - I used the kind for paper in matte
one or 2 orange napkins (one lady used white paper towels and food coloring)
black card stock - go ahead and cut out the shapes for the face
at least 1 jar (but why stop at one?)
I also painted the lid (not pictured) with acrylic paint
a battery operated candle is recommended (I used a tea light candle without incidence however)
an inexpensive foam brush
styrofoam plate or wax paper to sit your jar and brush onto while working

Start by tearing your napkin into narrow strips.  Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge onto the jar, slightly wider than your napkin strip.  Spread your napkin strip onto the jar, then apply a thin coat of Mod Podge on top.  Continue around the jar by slightly overlapping each strip.  Then apply more Mod Podge for the face.  Apply MP to the back of facial shapes, apply shapes to jar and cover with more Mod Podge.  Allow to dry.

I think these would be so cute outside, perhaps add some sand, gravel or kitty litter for weight.

Hope you take some time to make one or more of these little cuties.  LOVE mine and I see more of them in my future!
